London artist Ruby Francis comes together with jazztronica duo Blue Lab Beats for the groovy offering “Let Me In”—an exploration of vulnerabilities in relationships, underpinned by Francis’ feathery vocals embedded in an intoxicating soundscape of subtle synths and seductive percussion.
With an emotive touch crafted to evoke vulnerabilities that “set us free,” “Let Me in,” is a layered production in which Francis’ vibrant and soulful voice works in tandem with Blue Lab Beats’ penchant for unusual instrumentation with the soft groove and poignant song writing.

Inspired by Francis’ personal experiences, yet open to interpretation, the track which came to life during a car ride to The Great Escape festival infuses Ruby’s vast influences picked carefully from her time living between London, L.A. and Japan with the signature ‘00s R&B and jazz sensibilities of Namali Kwaten and David Mrakpor, better known as Blue Lab Beats.
The instrumentals having been made by Blue Lab Beats several years ago, and the lyrics having been co-written with singer-songwriter and Francis’ close friend Laura Roy, “Let Me In,” taken from the rising star’s forthcoming album is an addictive single that gives us a glimpse of Francis’ versality.
From the soulful showcase of her musicality with previous releases “Night Time Therapy,” “To Be Fair” and her debut album establishing her vocal as well as lyrical prowess and the trademark burst of her family roots as a British-Jamaican-Italian creative enriching her artistry, this latest offering further cements Ruby Francis status as an artist to watch.
