Singer/songwriter JONES shares a new release, "Read My Mind," which serves as the follow-up to her last single, "Around." This time, though, she makes use of a core acoustic guitar-driven backdrop provided by her co-writer Oli Barton-Wood. The subtle production is stripped down to the essentials allowing JONES' sublime melodic runs to shine through and the result is a soul-gripping expression of what she wants in a relationship. She explains via emails that she is looking at it from the glass-half-empty, half-full perspective. Are these expectations realistic? Probably not, but hey, a girl should be able to dream out loud, shouldn't she?
"Read My Mind" comes with a performance video focusing on the singer and nothing more. It's quite straightforward and makes use of close-up headshots capturing her full emotions. "Read My Mind" is the second single taken from her forthcoming EP, Blue Sunshine, which is scheduled to be released next month.
JONES will be heading to the big stage on the 16th of September at the Summer By The River Festival. Hosted by BBC Music Introducing in London, the show will be held at The Scoop by City Hall on the Southbank of the Thames. With one EP, Skin, under her belt and a new one on the way, JONES is slowly gaining momentum as the artist to watch.
