Indie-pop duo McLeish & Spencer explore changing dynamics in relationships on "Falling Away"

Chichester and London based duo McLeish & Spencer offer up an infectious indie-pop number, “Falling Away,” underpinned by gentle vocals and intricate layers of a guitar-led soundscape. Only on the second release of their career, the duo – consisting of Ewan McLeish and Matt Spencer – reflect on the ever-changing dynamics of human relationships, shaped and then reshaped by the experiences we live through. Opening with the soft strum of acoustic guitars, McLeish's soothing voice lends a touch of warmth to the melancholic vibe that settles over the track.

Juxtaposing the bright but breezy sway of bass and drum beats with the emotive touch of 90s alt-rock, the pair hone in on the quiet power sound that has been developing as their signature. The track injects the nostalgia of looking back at our relationships, tracing the evolution of these human connections and how these bonds change with age, extending the introspective message into a delicate soundscape that’s as catchy as it is comforting.

Their passion for their craft burning bright even in the isolation of the past year, the pair of creatives did not let distance hold back their creativity, swapping and brainstorming ideas, writing and recording their music remotely. Quickly gaining acclaim with their debut single, “I Remember,” McLeish & Spencer have no plans of slowing down with a view of creating a collection of songs that can take live audiences by storm as soon as they are able to play live shows in the coming months.
