New Jersey experimental rap artist Freakquencee shares new single "Light of Mine" just in time for the summer season. The bright funky track produced by Thankyoufatmatt of Cool Company is perfect for Freakquencee's uplifting lyrics that push positivity amidst the madness in the world. Inspired by Yasiin Bey's "Umi Says" and Natasha Bedingfield's "Pocketful of Sunshine," Freakquencee brings a mix of pop/funk vibes infused with hip-hop on this one and implores listeners to shine their light and be the change they truly want to be.
The uplifting track is definitely needed in these strange times and exudes pure nostalgic vibes reminiscent of summer BBQs and fun in the sun. "Light of Mine" is the follow-up to her debut single "Smile Again." Freakquencee is a Newark New Jersey-raised rapper who started rapping at the age of 13 but started but it wasn't till she linked up with producer Liam Bornovski also known by his producer name Limabeats. That incident led to him producing her debut single.
