Beginning with breathy vocals and rhythmic down strumming, “come over x” quickly overflows with synth-heavy production — enveloping us in a beautiful bursting sound at the chorus and throughout the remainder of the song. The accompanying music video follows a young person climbing into the window of their love interest to fulfill a clandestine meeting as the song closes with the repeated lyrics: so why do I have to hide you?
