Introducing British-Moroccan independent artist ELATRASI. A self-taught pianist, songwriter and aspiring composer, ELATRASI shares her powerful debut single, "Heavy". To say the least, it’s a huge power move to release a track with such raw and dark emotion. Most artists might shy away from taking that route, but not her. ELATRASI’s “Heavy” makes an impact.

It doesn’t take much for ELATRASI to create a masterpiece. From the start, listeners are pulled into her chamber-pop cinematic universe with an echoed piano and her booming, chorale vocals. Inspired by her North African-Arab heritage, the track incorporates vintage Arabic violins complemented by marching percussion. It will have you feeling invigorated and inspired to take control of life.

ELATRASI alludes to her living with chronic illnesses as well as heavy thoughts. She draws on the concept that not everything is as it seems. One may see smiles, strength, and confidence in someone, but it doesn’t mean they do not also experience troubling times. Especially in the age of social media, this feeling can hit home for a lot of audiences.

For a debut single, ELATRASI shows that she's not shying away from speaking her mind, and getting vulnerable. We hope that trend is here to stay.
