Rapper/poet/dope human Fego Navarro is known to rep his native San Francisco to the fullest, but his latest ditty, "Hollywood Hills," finds him posted up on the other side of the Golden State. In the accompanying video for "Hollywood Hills" it seems Fego has everything he needs—a girl, a comfy couch, a PlayStation 2 and NBA 2K3—but will he get the Hollywood ending he desires?
In the Hollywood Hills, "where nothing's really real," it appears Fego isn't too optimistic about his chances. However, he's plenty confident on the mic as he marinates the jazzy, chilled-out instrumental with a charming, conversational flow. The cozy feel of the beat, bars, and home-video-style visuals evokes memories of café au laits on sunny Saturday mornings, stay-in Friday nights with that special someone.
"Hollywood Hills" precedes the release of Fego's Escapism EP this Friday. Check out that and the rest of his catalog for more feel-good blaps.
