Providence-based emcee Jon Hope recently put out the 9-track Hope All is Well and now he returns with a gripping video for the soul-searching track "House of Cards." The somber Prodi.J produced track is brimming with emotions and evocative lyrics about his upbringing and experiences as a young black man chasing his dreams with little to nothing to work with. Hope takes the listeners deep into the mix and bears his scars for us to see. Joining him is the vocalist Ceez who summarizes the struggles with an impassioned and poignant chorus.
Jon Hope once again teams up with his longtime collaborator CBN ONE, who worked on his previous release “Where We Come From”/”THS.” The visuals for "House of Cards," are striking and blends performance shots with clips detailing the revealing lyrics. It is short but gives the acts enough time to showcase their onscreen performances and the chemistry is in abundance too.
