The iconic house music label DJ international has officially relaunched with the release of an unheard track from the late pioneer of house, Frankie Knuckles. The post-humorous release is entitled "Carefree"and includes a remix from another Chicago house music legend, Chip E, as well as Label head Rocky Jones.
The original production of "Carefree" brings pack some serious nostalgia reminding house music fans how truly talented the Godfather of house music really was. This feel-good record features lyrics and vocal delivered by the legend himself. With the vocals at the forefront of the track, the genius producer incorporates smooth chords and hats to make this a complete house record. The release also features two grooving remixes of the track from Chip-E and Rocky Jones. This release marks the first installment of the Jackmaster 7, an unreleased follow-up to the Jackmaster series of albums.
Founded back in 1985, DJ International is best known for being the home for some of the most iconic releases in Chicago house music history. Artists that have released tracks on the label include some of the pioneers of the genre such as Marshall Jefferson, Farley 'Jackmaster' Funk, Larry Heard and Steve 'Silk Hurley', just to name a few.
