Tia Gostelow unveils her funk-fueled new single “ALWAYS.”
“ALWAYS” shows Gostelow exploring a different avenue, straying from her signature sound of indie/folk. Featuring Holy Holy, the track combines Gostelow’s falsetto range with Tim Carroll’s deep, soulful vocals. Reminiscent of Oh Wonder, “ALWAYS” is the ultimate dance-worthy track, sure to get you up on your feet.
Produced by Oscar Dawson, the song showcases twinkling synths, groovy basslines and energetic percussion, creating a distinct and celestial sound, while hypnotizing listeners and transporting them to a place where their troubles and worries dissolve away. Gostelow shares in her press release, "I am so excited about Always being released. I feel like it’s the song that sums up the whole vibe of the album and I’m so stoked to have Holy Holy featuring on it. It was really cool to be able to work with Oscar and Tim on it and I love that you can hear elements of their distinct sound throughout the song."
“ALWAYS” was originally written by fellow Australian band The Money War and the collaboration couldn’t have been a more perfect fit. The song narrates how love can have its positives and negatives and how sometimes we have to push through the tough times because the good outweighs the bad. This relatable subject matter is a common theme throughout Gostelow’s album, with the artist often touching on young adulthood and everyday life issues, giving her take on how to cope with life’s hurdles.
