Reston, Virgina's alternative hip-hop group, RDGLDGRN, has always managed to capture the perfect snapshot of the American dream. With all three members proudly donning their international heritage, they boldly experiment with influences found all over the world, intertwining richly colored sounds with their signature go-go style. When it came to their new track, however, they didn't have to venture far for inspiration, collaborating with UK's newest pop voice, Vanela, to release the summer tinged "Good Life."

Bolstering Vanela's honeyed vocals with an even sweeter pop melody, "Good Life" doesn't try to hide behind complex meanings or meandering lines of thought— "I've been dreaming about the good life/But now I live the good life, and this is what it look like." Instead, it embraces its candid story of redemption, punching in Green's confessional accomplishments with a booming drum kick. Always ones to remain humble, though, they offset it with delicate chords and a softly sweeping guitar, creating just enough of a juxtaposition to match their message of appreciation despite any previous obstacles. On paper, it may check all the boxes for a feel-good, summer anthem, but on air, it absolutely shatters them.
"Good Life" is out everywhere this Friday, July 17th.
