Los Angeles-based indie electronic trio Moontower release their Mother’s Day memoir “Got My Way.” Singer Jacob Culver wrote the song after facing the life changing event of his mother’s heart-attack. Despite her recovery to health, the musician was left in despair at the thought of losing his mother and confronted by the accompanying guilt of having previously taken her for granted. Embellished with quirky electronic melodies, and emotive lyrics, “Got My Way” is a summery, feel-good track aimed to remind others to call up your loved ones and show your appreciation.

Culver shares in his press release, “This song is about the regrets I would have had if we had lost her that day, and I hope it serves as a reminder to tell the ones you love that you love them when you can.” Laid-back vocal tones complement the upbeat rhythms, allowing the thought-provoking song to pack a punch through jangly pop soundscapes. The three-piece have succeeded in sending a positive message of encouragement, while simultaneously delivering a fun, playful summer banger. The SoCal band are known for their dynamic live performances, having sold-out venues across the state and beyond. Be right back – calling my mom.
