Swaggering, addictive and brimming with true punk authenticity, Kent-based three-piece Lady Bird share the riotous cut "WWW," along with the announcement of their forthcoming EP BRAINWASH MACHINE SETTING. Equal parts pop, punk and rock, each facet shines through of its own accord; with a singalong pop chorus and confrontational lyrics delivered in a distinctly Brit-punk manner, all propelled by a gritty DIY rock undertone.
A foot-stomping introduction fast establishes the trio's unrelenting energy as the verse strips the track back into chugging guitars, before a snappy crowd vocal pre-chorus. A slight change of energy, the wildly melodic chorus is as indelible as it is frenetic.
The group had this to say about the single: "What does a war and a web have in common? Who wants to be caught in one? Why ask? This song likes to tickle the Queen bee’s feet whilst sharing thoughts and observations about her beautiful hive and obedient colony. The Wicked War of the West tells “slippery stories and…tales” of familiar and somewhat fictional concepts via a punk pop rock rock banger," and a banger it certainly is.
