One of the truly thrilling things about my job is introducing people to artists I believe will stand the test of time. One such artist is Malaki. Today, he debuts the first single from Cocoon, 'Fair Play'.

The project follows his debut EP Butterfly Boy, a stunning 6 track work about navigating toxic masculinity, youth, love and loss. Cocoon, by contrast, promises to be a collaborative effort with several different artists – a musing on creativity for strange times.

Featuring Lucy McWilliams on an impossibly smooth vocal, and Malaki's longtime collaborator Matthew Harris, 'Fair Play' drips charisma, and proves Malaki is more than capable of creating lasting, unique and important work. Playing with form and tone, The Dublin native's unorthodox approach to hip-hop blends genre and molds it into something new and exciting. Watch this space for more on Malaki.
