Pro Era's CJ Fly and Joey Bada$$ have teamed up for the patois-tinged jam aptly titled "Rudebwoy". The linked up with veteran hip-hop producer Statik Selektah on the track, who blesses them with a slapping boom-bap instrumental as they pay homage to their Jamaican roots as well as the sizzling summer. CJ threads together tightly woven wordplay between a boisterous declaration, “I’m a rudebwoy, and I ain’t gonna change.” Meanwhile, Joey Bada$$ comes through with an explosive and engaging verse to wrap things up nicely.
The David Janoff directed visual is packed with nothing but colorful images that capture the duo's Caribbean roots and follow the two MCs as they cruise through New York and incite all manner of ruckus while performing in different spots. We get to see the full Caribbean posse representing the famous island to the fullest in the summertime.
"Rudebwoy" is the title track of CJ's upcoming debut album. The album marks the first release as Pro Era inks a new distribution deal ADA Worldwide. Stream the single on all platforms here.
