With a quick and swift blow, 20-year-old Montreal-based DJ and producer Matveï, has managed to completely entrance us with his newest soulful rhapsody "DISTANCE". Featuring LA vocalist Alyss, the deep house gem arrives via Kitsuné Musique and is a preemptive release in lieu of his forthcoming debut EP—one that will fully showcase his peculiar brand of electronic music.

Lauded as the new generation of French electronic talent in his native country of France, Matveï's trajectory is clearly on the rise. "DISTANCE" sees the duo go the extra mile in effortless collaboration and consistent musicality; whilst Matveï dives in deep with a soulful house vibe, Alyss holds her own and amplifies the track with her breathy vocals, curating a supple soundscape both fresh and invigorating. Beautiful and lush textures are woven throughout, and it's clear that the DJ/producer had a goal in mind—and is rising to the occasion.

"With "DISTANCE", my intention was to create a melodic and energetic peak time club track," Matveï shares. "It's obviously house but I didn't want it to sound like a classic house record, therefore I blended elements from different genres in it. I also enjoy vocal chops so it's only normal you hear them as the main element in the drop or as backing vocals." The deep house number is clearly a cut above others, nailing peak time euphoria in a manner that exudes confidence and sneakily subtle in energy.

Having been brought up on a steady diet of French hip-hop, house and bass, Matveï blends an exciting cocktail of house and urban club sounds, drawing inspiration from Kaytranada, Disclosure, Metro Boomin, Baauer, and Sam Gellaitry. Discovered by tastemaker Parisian label Kitsuné Musique having just turned 18, Matveï's releases on Maison Kitsuné Compilation 18 and Parisien IV, introduced the young producer to an international audience, garnering accolades from Martin Garrix and R3hab as well as official remixes for cult label, Future Classic.
