Definitely one of the most interesting artists about at the moment, Yugen Blakrok is a magician casting dark spells through sound. Earlier this year she released the enchanting Anima Mysterium. We take a look below.
Recently fresh from a COLORS studio show Blakrok performed "Morbid Abakus." A kind of meditative and cosmic hiphop, which is both amazingly educational and enlightening at times. The beat drones through as though we are living and listening in one moment, yet it ever so slowly changes and develops over time. Meanwhile Blakrok vividly hurdles all topics across the sound waves. Nothing is off limits. We feel aware of the connectedness of the universe, and the presence of the supernatural. As a result there is something really extraordinary in this album. Full of complex wordplay Anima Mysterium requires your complete attention. But you won't be disappointed.
