Montreal-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Ghostnaut shares production duties with DJ and producer Rooster on their new collaborative single titled "Disorder".
The two long life friends met up once again just after Ghostnaut released his hip-hop and jazz-themed album at the tail end of 2018. While still inspired by this jazzy style, Ghostnaut had the idea of blending his jazz-inspired sounds with Rooster's hard trap production. This combination led to a sound that the duo describes as "lazy funk" – a mix of soulful jazz textures and downtempo trap grooves.
"Disorder" also features vocals from rapper Jinz Moss who heard the beat during his tour with Ghostnaut and decided to jump on it. Moss makes the most of the solemn backdrop as he cleverly weaves a tale of disorderliness in his life from random sex with strangers, drugs to alcohol. Singer Nardean then comes through to add some hypnotic melodies on the hook – which serve as a soothing factor to Jinz's grim lyrics.
