KIANA just needs some space on the grimy "ALONE"

KIANA’s sweet but unyielding vocals combine with trippy synths for an alluring lo-fi tune on her newest track "ALONE." The Toronto native rebukes a clingy nuisance who can’t seem to get the hint in the song's lyrical content.

Don’t mistake her soft sound for passivity; KIANA is absolutely over the B.S. and makes it clear with a resounding demand to be left alone in the chorus. Toronto has become a breeding ground for musical outliers who blur the lines between dark pop and sultry R&B. But it’s not just The Weeknd whose frigid synths and mysterious hooks are synonymous with the Toronto sound. Toronto’s underground R&B scene also includes young newcomers, like KIANA, whose upbringing in Europe and Iranian background make for some deeply poetic musical wanderings.
