South Florida's Crowd Controlol (pronounced "crowd control") has been a force in the tech / minimal scene since he picked up the craft of producing in the early 2010's (his first residency in 2012 was at none other than Club Space's famed Terrace). Today he returns to airwaves with yet another dancefloor stomper, his three-track Alien Arts EP on Low Grooves Records.
"Alien Arts" zips out the gate with a hypnotic low end, entrancing the listener with otherworldly vocal samples seemingly transmitting from a space station, priming ears for the intergalactic sonic journey to come. Up next with a vengeance is "Questing with Questions," a playful conversational piece and "Snapple Bottle," sinking deeper into the ether and probing with suggestive wobbles. Taken as a complete body of work, Alien Arts is a surefire club scorcher and will delight fans eager to wiggle to impactful, minimal vibes.
The creation process for Alien Arts sounds like every producer's fever dream. Anthony Salce, the man behind the Crowd Controlol moniker remarks, "Every year, I spend at least a week in Berlin, locked in the studio, 100% focused on writing music. These are arguably my most productive days of the year when it comes to creating new material for me. Everything about the studio feels great and inspiring, from the plethora of gear, to the fresh summer Berlin breeze coming through the windows, to the great host and amazing friend Alexander Zinn. I wrote this EP in three days time, one track each day, influenced and inspired heavily by the allure of the nightlife there."
Crowd Controlol is riding high from a banner year in 2018, with the success of his vinyl release "Science Fiction" in late November, which charted at #1 in December on deejay.de.
