A little under two years ago QUIX aka Jono Schenll was mowing lawns to make a living, and now he's taking the music world by storm. Jump starting his career so is his 6-track EP release with Dim Mak, a coinciding North American tour, and being the cover feature of popular dance release Spotify playlist Mint, it's safe to say it has been a big year for the New Zealand native producer.

On Illusions, "Get Down" is my favourite as it brilliantly creates a suspenseful opening to the rest of the tracks. It showcases the producer's range of production from glossy, experimental and his signature of heavy and wonky bass trap. The opening of the track begins with sample sounds of a thunderstorm encompassed with a harmonic piano melody that leads to a dynamic hard hitting layers of synths that get all up in your face.
