Hot off a jostling start that slides his signature sweatbox wobbles between a flurry of ear pleasing melody, Tsuruda firmly has my attention. His newest straight to SoundCloud offering "i'm still here" seems to confidently embody the bass producer's vast toolkit of sounds all at once, coursing from retro to experimental to downtempo and back in the literal blink of an eye.
Much emphasis is packed into four minutes of sound, and its easy to grasp onto Tsuruda's sonic intricacies, and frustrations, in a very slim period of time. "i'm still here" — "is anyone else?" asks the song's genre tag. With tour slots supporting Shades (Eprom and Alix Perez) on the horizon, and seemingly endless creative inspiration bubbling over, I don't think anyone has forgotten that Tsuruda is here to stay. All we can hope for is more outstanding music of this caliber reaching airwaves in the near future.
