Idesia is an electronic group made up of singer Sophie Dimitroff, Daniel Oldham ‘Dannyo’( producer/bassist), Brandon Combs(drummer) and keyboardist Colton Toy. The quartet just released their new single "Onacloud", a rousing ethereal number that blends electronic soul, neo-soul with r&b sensibilities. The backdrop is quite engulfing and doesn't really conform to the expected standard soul styles while Sophie's commanding vocals take on a life on their own with such emotional intensity and passion.
"Onacloud" is an original song on Idesia's new live album, Ember. Ember is a tranquilizing collection of live recordings from Los Angeles/Chicago soul electronic band Idesia. As their first official live release, Ember features two previously unheard tracks from LA shows–a stripped-down cover of "Waiting in Vain" and a version of their original "Onacloud." Several other songs on Ember, including Idesia's intricate interpretation of Bob Marley's classic "I Shot the Sheriff," have previously only been available via Youtube.
