After dropping his borough repping track "Barking", rising British rapper Ramz comes back with a smooth, upbeat jam that details his humble genesis by highlighting the individuals who made him what he is today. The aptly titled single "Family Tree" has a feel-good summery vibe courtesy of producer Fraser T Smith and is dedicated to his roots in Mitcham, South London.
Throughout this video, Ramz gives us an insight into his childhood experiences – taking advice from his mother and lessons learned from his friends. Ramz doesn't hold anything back as he states "That's my family tree. If you know about them, then you know about me."
The video for "Family Tree" was beautifully directed by Kaylum Dennis (Stormzy, Krept & Konan, Dave, Raye, Not3s), a director who clearly has a keen eye for capturing the inner lying themes found in many of these artist's songwriting. This video was shot in Mitcham and features guest appearances from Ramz’s friends and family. Following the release of ‘Family Tree’, this summer will see Ramz perform at a string of festivals, kicking off with Wireless on Saturday 7th July 2018.
