We got a double dose of soulful produce from the newest duo in town. Davina Oriakhi who has already graced us with her electrifying soulness in the past is back with Canada based soul artist Preyé and together they craft the first of their many future collaborations in the form of this groovy record titled "Vanity". The Gabriel Ryder single has a 90's R&B/soul vibe about it and feels right at home for the two ladies as they thrill the listener with their alluring soulful vocal tones. Far from being vintage for the sake of it, the message behind the song is something to grow on as they touch on the eternal quest for mankind's obsession with material possessions and fickle pleasures. The continuous hustle for worldly gains is brought to a closure with lyrics like "...cos the money is just numbers, numbers do not end/ How long will you be chasing, the hunt it never ends…"
Both Davina and Preyé's collaborative process was birthed from having similar visions and most importantly that unique chemistry to make everything come together like a plan. "Vanity." is a joint single from the Nigerian singers Davina Oriakhi & Preyé and serves as the first of many collaborations from both ladies. We just have to wait and see.
