Lord have "Mercy," Lookas is back

The wait is over. Fans of Miami trap lord Lookas should assemble their neck braces, because the man is back with his first original track in a year – and it's massive. "Mercy" begins easy and melodic, and I'll admit I found myself bracing for a cookie cutter future drop throughout the minute-long intro. Call it 2017 PTSD, but you never know who will dip their toe into feel good synth land these days. Thankfully it seems Lookas is sticking to what he does best: grimy, metallic bass music. The atmospheric melody creates a slick juxtaposition with the punishing drop, but strap in because "Mercy" is a raucous ride to the end.

Catch Lookas touring the U.S. this fall, and don't forget your ear plugs!
