The experimental soul outfit B. Cool-Aid finally released their debut project BRWN via Akashik Records last week, and today the duo has decided to unveil a short film for the LP that was directed, shot, and edited by Alima Jennings & Ringgo Ancheta (also known as Mndsgn).
The lo-fi short was shot on 16mm film and follows Pink Siifu & Ahwlee as they traverse South Los Angeles on a hazy afternoon as cuts from the album serve as the soundtrack for each scene. As the name of the short suggests, the visual features a vibrant all black cast and was shot primarily at a number of historically African American-owned businesses, such as the Watts Coffee House & Sonny's Barber Shop. It is the ideal companion piece for duo's nostalgic summer sound .
