Brooklyn pop rockers Active Bird Community released their superb record Stick Around earlier this year. The album was full of addicting cuts that channel the vibes of early '90s alternative rock and mesh it with pop/indie rock genres, similar to acts as Wavves and Pavement. The album is catchy and demands multiple replays and sing-alongs. And today, EARMILK is premiering one of the catchiest tracks off Stick Around, "Dead Legs".
The visual for "Dead Legs", which can be seen above, features vocalist Tom D'Agustino getting dragged around the city from other members of Active Bird Community. We see a few shots of the band performing in an alley, hanging out in a Target and having fun in the streets. The track pays tribute to apathy and the dreadful journey through adulthood, yet seems catchy and joyous enough to to throw on repeat. It's definitely a garage banger for 2017.
Vocalist/guitarist commented on the track,
I think the goal was to try to express the anxiety of starting a new chapter in life, but also the ways your friends can rescue you from that anxiety – the ways they can prop you up and show you how to stop worrying all the time.
