Be Svendsen releases a mystical electronica dream in latest EP 'Nabia'

Be Svendsen has just released his latest EP, an enigmatic journey of electronica titled Nabia, out on the impressive Earthly Delights label. He delivers organically felt electronica here, but has already shown his ability to create club ready material with his Rebellion debut Twilight In Tankwa, as well as top remix work on Crosstown Rebels with a remix of NU’s ‘Man O To’.

The Nabia EP is an incredible and ethnically rich affair, a mythical journey from start to finish with 'Decoy' setting the tone. It oozes whispy Arabic melodies, set within a deserted soundscape — it's no surprise that Be Svendsen has played Burning Man two years on the trot. The title track, Nabia, takes a step back; slower and with a persistent, rubbery percussion construct that surrounds the post-modern spaghetti western energy of this one. The EP is rounded off with the Hang Drum focused Hidá ft Sacha Nielsen, which breathes a real sense of soul into a semi-synthetic world.

Earthly Delights have established themselves as purveyors of world-music infused electronica, commonly showcasing artists who utilize tribal-like percussion, haunting ambiance and vocals, as well as highly melodic and deeply hypnotic musicality throughout their tracks. Much of it works on the dancefloor but, equally, is perfect for lounge listening also.

This EP from Be Svendsen is their fifth and follows an excellent array of work from Yør Kultura, Kora (CA), and Timujin. If you like what you hear from Be Svendsen then buy it here on Beatport or Traxsource.

Born and raised in London, UK. I cut my teeth on a varied diet of rock/indie, hard house/trance d&b and UK garage, developing an acute taste for house, tech house, and techno, but appreciate electronic music in all its glorious forms. Lucky enough to by DJ Mag's tech house editor, as well as having my views published online by some fantastic music hubs, such as EARMILK and Chase The Compass. I also manage deep and tech house label, Faceless Recordings. Let's GO!
