The French term "fauxbourdon" (translated literally to “false bass") represents a musical technique utilized by composers in the Middle Ages and early Renaissance era. In the 21st century, it's a practice that allows Dutch producer BeauDamian to "write music in a classical way." His newest offering on bitbird partners the artist with Australian producer ZEKE BEATS. Aptly named "Faux Bourdon," the track is at once lushly melodic and jarringly metallic. Haunting choir vocals cascade through BeauDamian's 8-bit universe, uniting the classical with the cutting edge. "The world is changing. Technology is getting bigger and bigger," says BeauDamian. "This track shows us the development we are going through. Less acoustic material, less human activity, more binary codes and artificial intelligence.”
