Munich-born SAINT WKND enlists enchanting vocals from Australian duo Hoodlem on the warm new single "Golden" – a track which bares raw emotion in its intertwining of synths and delicate keys.
Released via Ultra Records and Nothing Else Matters, a European imprint spearheaded by Danny Howard and Nigel Harding, the single is a piece of SAINT WKND's debut EP Golden Youth, due to be released later this year. The 22-year-old will also be joining Chicago natives Louis the Child on their spring tour, with fellow special guests Imad Royal and Manilla Killa.
He explains about the process of making the track: “I woke up at 2am and had an urgent feeling to make music. I started writing and finished the song by 8am. ‘Golden’s’ instrumental was done, but I wanted to add vocals to it. I knew about the indie group Hoodlem and luckily when I was on tour in Australia in 2016 I met them in Melbourne and we recorded the vocals in their home studio. It’s a very honest song and I hope people will enjoy it.”
