It isn’t very often that two artists are able to seamlessly meld their vision for a new collaborative project. However, this is exactly what has been happening for Germany’s Florian Kruse and singer/songwriter Hendrik Burkhard, who have been putting out a myriad of releases together on some of the best house and techno labels of the scene this year. For their latest release, they are returning to the venerated label Poker Flat Recordings for their three track EP, Sirens, out tomorrow July 22nd.

The title track, “Sirens,” wraps up the EP on the darker end of the spectrum. Florian Kruse and Hendrik Burkhard set the tone with a heady low end and an almost bouncy, crisp percussion. The heavily reverbed tonal synths that were present in their Going Against The Grain release make an appearance, giving the whole project a connected, yet evolutionary quality. The lower end of the track gives the track an undeniable weighty groove while arpeggiated synths lay effortlessly on top, layering in and out, making the perfect backdrop to overlay Hendrik’s downright atmospheric, yet dark, vocals.

This is definitely one release that should not be missed. Pick up a copy when it drops tomorrow!
