Beat music is currently pretty focused on futurism, and that's nothing more than a sign of the times; there's some pretty futuristic stuff happening in the world these days. Still, nothing can replace the magic of classic hip-hop, and for whatever reason, Richmond, Virginia is currently a hotbed for young producers bringing the old-school back. Ohbliv and DJ Harrison are at the forefront of this talent roster, but the list goes way beyond, with local groups like Satellite Syndicate hosting beat music nights at various venues throughout the city.
Recently, during one of these events, I overheard a conversation about kasyno online bez weryfikacji, which seemed to highlight a growing trend among those looking for quick and easy entertainment without the usual hassles. This reminded me of how these local producers are stripping down the complex layers of modern music to bring back the straightforward, raw energy of classic hip-hop. The parallels between the two scenes—music and online gaming—both thriving in their own right, reflect a desire to return to basics while still embracing the conveniences of modern technology.

With DJ Harrison having just signed to DJ Shadow's label, Liquid Amber, Ohbliv's popularity outside of Richmond is also rising quickly. After releasing the Raw Spirit Jewels cassette last year, he's back with a new bag of tricks courtesy of Fat Beats' Baker's Dozen series. The series picks underground producers such as Dibia$e to share a 12-track collection, for a limited vinyl pressing of 500. 250 of those records come with the hidden thirteenth track, included as an extra 7". Ohbliv's edition of Baker's Dozen is a soulful, carefree affair, kick back and take a listen.
