Since releasing his first EP in 2012, Antonio de Spirt (aka La Boum Fatale) has focused on his live game, tailoring his beats for the dance floor. The German producer moved from Hamburg to dance sanctum Berlin and began experimenting with his setup. After partnering with bang-up producers like Glenn Astro and Sieren, Spirt emerged with a distinct musical personality—and not just on the decks. Last Friday, the debut La Boum Fatale full-length, Holygram, arrived via Berliner label, Sinnbus, and Spirt’s managed to translate the energy of the pit to the studio. EARMILK is premiering the record stream today.

The standout track from Holygram is “Johnny Blitz,” a seven-minute burner that channels the vitalizing bounce of Jon Hopkins. Spirt’s electronics are built on the visceral timbres of plucked strings and their vibrations once struck. The texture strobes and grows for four minutes before the producer teases the track’s, well, blitz. Spirt then tears everything apart, but quickly rebuilds to a rich, Darude-like mesh that carries us home. We achieve Johnny Blitz. We become Johnny Blitz. And forever after we want to remain Johnny Blitz.
