Fresh from launching his new label and single Birds That Fly, Kidnap Kid is back with the B side of the EP "Moments." It's evident from listening to both tracks on the release that he's putting the club friendly bass lines to one side in favour of brooding textured sounds that stir the emotions.
The production throughout the record is simply beautiful, with somber chords and moving strings providing the setting for the effortless vocal of rising talent Leo Stannard. There is a certain maturity about the record that we haven't previously heard from Kidnap Kid, it's understated and elegant, tipping its hat to artists such as Maribou State and Tourist who are well known for weaving rich, progressive tapestries around raw vocals.
If both tracks on his first EP are anything to go by, the label has a very exciting future ahead.
