Singer-songwriter Kane Strang has been building a steady following along New Zealand's underground indie rock scene. But with the release of "Things Are Never Simple," from his forthcoming debut album, Blue Cheese, he is soon to become a prominent artist to keep an eye out for.
The track contains flourishes of up-tempo melodies and slow-building guitar strums that tease to an eventual eruption of new age psych-pop that separates him from the flat 80's alternative sound currently flooding the indie scene.
The full album is due out February 26 via Flying Nun and Ba Da Bing!, with further announcements of a North American tour for later this year. Check out the track below:
