I tend to stay consistent on which artists I cover here on EARMILK. However, just like any other music addict, I find someone else to obsess about, share, or rant over. Today I've got a quick one coming to you from Miami collective WNWD, and their new track "Cruise".

Residing in South Florida, WNWD was birthed as the voice of a neighborhood that already had a foundation. WNWD is a group comprised of musicians that share the common goal of delivering a message of perseverance, inspiration, and dream chasing. Their debut EP, District is an example of the daydreaming that fills the heads of us as individuals everyday with a reminder to let it be more than a dream, but a dream worth achieving, despite the pessimistic outlook from society. The music is a taste of old school R&B accompanied with the sounds of our current era. Ultimately, being easy on the ears, with a sound that stands alone.

This is definitely a track for the heartbroken, dark, artistic types. WNWD couples great production with captivating lyrics, like the following:

"Hands on the wheel but I'm driving slow
Heading somewhere that I've been before
Background noise saying, 'No, don't go'
and if I don't listen, I know I'll want more"

There's a hint of compulsiveness and confusion in his song, but WNWD does not shy away from claiming they do what they want. The song is slow and complex, lacing together guitar riffs and piano in stellar fashion. They represent the people who are not afraid to be different or carve their own paths. To hear more about this idea, check out his first video, here.

Listen to the R&B track "Cruise" below, and grab it for free download here.
