Only a few hours ago The Weeknd dropped the highly anticipated second single, "Can't Feel My Face," off his sophomore album Chapter III. Yesterday a remix of the track was posted on gigantic hip-hop forum Kanyetothe. The user who posted the remix on the forum claimed that the producer of the remix, an artist going by the name of T O U L O U E S E, is none other than acclaimed producer-of-the-moment Cashmere Cat.
The post was met with mixed opinions from users with some arguing that the track was trash while other users contended that the remix was a work of genius. Personally, I find the track to be staggering.
T O U L O U S E (Cashmere Cat?) creates one of the most compelling soundscapes I have heard in a minute. Wild African drums resound sporadically throughout the track, along with the jubilant, yet twisted, vocals that ultimately flush out the track. The remix is most definitely geared toward the ADHD generation of millennials, a generation characterized as having a shorter attention span than a squirrel, as evident by the spontaneous and unexpected transitions exhibited throughout the track.

Whether T O U L O U S E is in fact Cashmere Cat or not, his remix of The Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face" is a beautiful, dark, twisted remix of a track, and it could be argued that the remix is more authentic to that of the The Weeknd's sound than the original. Stream the remix below and decide for yourself and support T O U L O U S E by following him on Soundcloud.
