House music pioneer Sandy Rivera has been increasingly reappearing on our radar, both as himself and under his recently rebranded Blackwiz alter ego. Starting out his career making huge moves as Kings of Tomorrow, he's created tracks that continue to get remixed, sampled and updated for the current dance music environment. This month he returns to the newly minted Love & Other label, a label that's been bringing deeper nu disco sounds into the spotlight, to remix a collaboration between Jason Burns and Sarah Winters. First debuted last year, "Lightweight" is a soft, deep, eerie and minimalist track, inspired by Burns's affinity for garage and R&B. Winters' vocals echo throughout, elevating and tying the track together as a whole. Rivera's take on "Lightweight" is a bit more uplifting, with a heavier bassline and a singular synth accent that perfectly highlights the pleasing vocals. Check out our exclusive first listen below ahead of the EP release on March 30th of this year.
