San Fermin builds to 'Jackrabbit' release with "Emily"

Brooklyn-based baroque pop group San Fermin continues their campaign towards the release of sophomore album Jackrabbit with new single "Emily", a sentimental pop song about drunken confusion, New York loneliness and anxiety led by Allen Tate's bass vocals.  The single comes on the heels of the album's title-track, an ebullient, almost-frantic earworm that shows off the band's range and pop sensibilities.

Despite the somber topic within, "Emily" has an infectious catchiness to it as Tate sings, "Emily let the night take me, down down down the rabbit hole," a neat pun on the album's title.  The band's tone is quite upbeat too with flourishes of optimist-sounding brass, a relatively quick pace and Charlene Kaye's bright backing vocals.  It appears that Ellis Ludwig-Leone, the brains behind the band, is pushing pop or San Fermin's unique brand of it, to the top of the agenda for Jackrabbit.  The new sound looks (or more accurately, sounds) good on San Fermin.
