LA based singer, producer, and songwriter Harriet Brown is becoming an act to look out for in 2015 due to his ultra-smooth vocal abilities, vast knowledge of music theory, and assured ability to set the right mood every single time. He was featured on EARMILK a few weeks back for an excellent collaborative track with Company Record's Astronauts and Chaz Bundick, but now the neo-funk artist is ready to deliver some new solo material with his latest single "20/15".
This provocative single is written as a sort of love letter from Harriet to his girlfriend but is relatable to any individual seeking to uplift a significant other in a relationship. It is a slow-moving, seductive piece that takes a lot cues from prominent crooners of the past (notably Prince & Keith Sweat) but manages to sound fresh thanks to Harriet's unique ear on production, the intimate lyrical content, and his impressive vocal range. This is a track that will surely appeal to both younger and older audiences alike. Listen to (or download) the single below and make sure to check out Harriet Brown's Soundcloud for more soulful jams! (You can also check out his recent interview with Pigeons & Planes here!)
