It seems that more and more of these mysterious overnight viral sensations are popping up on Soundcloud with remixes that listeners can't get enough of. But there's one difference with the latest from the UK's 99 Souls: "The Girl Is Mine," a mash up as you would have hoped from its title featuring Beyonce vs. Brandy & Monica was debuted as Pete Tong's Essential New Tunes late last year. For me, the thing that separates this reimagining of 1990's and early 2000's tracks from others who attempt it is the compelling chopping of Monica's vocal sample, used almost as a new chorus. The track is now live on Soundcloud, and you'll want to give this one more than one listen for its underground nu disco bass and lifelong favorite vocals, with the extra perk that you can download it here.
