It's been a hot minute since Manchester hip-hop label Flip Recipe was set up by master behind the boards Sourface. Since then we've had a couple of really tough releases from the label, mainly coming from another beatmaster, Beatowski.
While the first EP released on the label, Hand Crafted, took a more traditional hip-hop feel to it, with samples being at the heart of each bangin' beat worked onto the release, it seems the Manchester resident is going a little more leftfield with his latest release "Polka Dot Skirt". The new 'chill-trap' route taken provides a more modern sound, more akin to the likes of Rustie & Hudson Mohawke. With dreamy syths wavering over the top of some really deep 808's and crunchy snares, theres a real futuristic feel to this joint, and is something you could picture a more experimental rapper jumping, such as Danny Brown or Vic Mensa.
You can listen to "Polka Dot Skirt" below, and if you're feeling this chill trap banger it's available to download over on iTunes.
