Last year, London based Odysseus announced itself to the world with the release of “Never Gonna Let You Go” on Cheap Thrills and the subsequent Hit It Again on Moda Black. This month, Odysseus is back with a self-titled release, Odysseus out on Cheap Thrills.
Opening with an infectious bass line and crisp, tight percussion, the first track on the release, “Done To Me,” is designed for the dance floor, while beautiful synth work intertwines effortlessly with immaculately placed vocals. All of this merges into quite an amazingly well layered track and a remarkable listening experience.

In the second track, “Upstream Colour,” Odysseus teams up with KC Lights for a more abstract take on house music. Piano chords meld with more artificial melodies while the hi-hat and driving beat keep everything together. This combination of organic and inorganic is striking and enjoyable to say the least.
