French Coq is an electronic music duo hailing from Paris and consisting of Emilien Levistre and Julien Boudot. Emlien studied for more than eight years at The Conservatoire de Paris, one of the best music school in France while Julien was studying film making and graphic design.
With many musical projects they crafted their style, each on his side, to finally team up earlier this year and come up forming this brand new duo. Somewhere between French house, electro and techno, their first EP, "Codex Phi" is genre-bending, undoubtedly dark but also, still, very melodic. It's just a 3 tracks record but feel like much more because of all the stories it seems to tell. Each piece is very cinematic and you can easily lose yourself in their dark universe, balancing back and forth between the oppressive basses and the parts where they will let you breath.
