A testament to the internet's far reach and ability to connect like-minded artist around the world, is the collaborative EP between Southern Californian spitter Waju and Moscow based producer Garimastah titled Alive and Direct.
The eight song EP, is modern take on the sound of hip-hop's golden age, with an focus on Waju's broad lyrical content in conjunction with Garimastah's tranquil soundscapes, a paring that is very reminiscent of Slum Village or Little Brother. Waju's optimism on life, relationships, and the future permeates throughout the project and is bound to leave listeners contemplating their own personal struggles. Everything about this project sounds so natural, which is incredible seeing how the two collaborators have never met in person. Make sure to keep your eyes out for these two in the future!
