You may not recognize the name Mary Lambert right off the top of your head, but the Seattle-based artist has had her hand in one of this generation's most prominent tracks: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's "Same Love". Lambert's unflinching ability to bare her soul through her work resulted in the song's now-famous chorus and also has led her to produce her forthcoming album, Heart On My Sleeve. So far, the lead single, "Secrets", which finds the singer-songwriter boldly confessing what some of her innermost insecurities, has garnered massive attention, with the official video bringing in over two million views this past month.
The minimal, indie pop song was sure to spawn a few remixes, and Dutch electronic maestro Fedde Le Grand takes the lead with his energetic progressive house remake. Back a few weeks ago, the first listen dropped Danny Howard's BBC Radio 1 show, but here today we have the full stream premiere for you in all its glory. Overlaid with crisp claps and driving basslines, the song takes off to dizzying heights when Fedde inserts a revolving step climb. It's exactly the kind of remix you want to hear from the man and will be out soon via Capitol Records.
