By day, North Carolina's Phil Torres is the published author behind A Crisis Of Faith: Atheism, Emerging Technologies and the Future of Humanity. But he's also a talented musician, having produced three albums under his Baobob alias, with a folk-electronic lean. In his debut EP under a new moniker, crowdsource, Torres brings us a euphoric, exuberant set of dancefloor-friendly tracks. The EP releases August 18 via Seattle's Hush Hush Records.
The opening song from the EP, "Go Like This", brings a fresh, unique blend of sounds that perfectly sets the mood for a summer day frolic. It's a chaotic blend, and if you listed the samples on paper, I'd expect utter cacophony, but crowdsource makes it all work.
