As we reluctantly kick off our working week (I mean really, who ACTUALLY likes Mondays?), I feel we need something laid back and chilled to ease us into the events ahead. Something that can take your mind off the fact that you have another 5 days before you can relax and begin your weekends activities all over again. Well, today is your lucky day, as we can exclusively bring you the new single from talented East London rapper, Jay Prince.
Following on from a succession of triumphant projects, including the highly acclaimed Mellow Vation, which was championed by the likes of Radio 1's Annie Mac, the london native is back with his brand new single "Polaroids", and boy is it a gem! Backed by a bumpin', mellow beat that features some soulful singing on the hook, Jay raps about his come-up, the city he reps and his daily life struggles trying to make it as a rapper. All of this is delivered with impeccable style and presentation, as his flow rides the beat perfectly and when he joins in on the hook he has me thinking instantly of Chance The Rapper, yet another artist who mixes rapping and singing incredibly well! This is one of my favourite releases to come from the UK this year, and definitely shows that Jay Prince has a bright future if he keeps heading on the same path that he walks right now.
Don't take my word for it, you can stream the impressive "Polaroids" below, and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for any more new music to come from this talented emcee!
