From Brick Records come Reks & Hazardis Soundz with the latest cut from upcoming collaborative record Eyes Watching God. “Garvey” features N.O.R.E and Saigon, who join a heavy cast of contributors including Fredro Starr, Termanology, Ruste Juxx, and Dutch Rebelle. Noreaga and Saigon, as you’d expect, work well together with their respective flows feeding off the fire of the stuttering beat which culminates in an excerpt of a speech from Marcus Garvey himself. “Garvey” is set to feature on the politically driven concept album that Reks and Haz completed in South Florida during the past year. The two have showcased great chemistry during the recent Eyes Watching God releases; Haz explaining the creative process as “organic and effortless” while Reks expressed how the Queens native brought him out of his comfort zone to great effect: “It felt natural working with Haz. He has a great ear for music and was interested in me trying beats I am not accustomed to spitting on. It helped me diversify myself a bit."
Diversity seems like one of many themes embedded within the new music from the duo, “good” and “evil” also coming through strongly in previous releases such as the Reks, Fredro Starr and Ruste Juxx driven “Unholy”. Eyes Watching God is out on July 15th with a video for “Garvey” pencilled in to drop on the same day.
